DemocracyForAmerica.com, founded by Howard Dean, defines itself as the nation’s largest progressive political action community. DFA has supported Senator Barack Obama since 2004, earning him one of the first “Dean Dozen” endorsements for his 2004 U. S. Senate race. In 2005, DFA members succeeded in getting Governor Dean elected as Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Below is an article copied from DFA’s website. Notice the timeline – and that Hillary Clinton is conspicuously absent from both the photo and the narrative.
Unite for a Progressive President (Dec 2007 – Jan 2008)
After holding the largest on-line Presidential poll of 2008, Democracy for America launched our Unite for a Progressive President campaign. DFA Members signed a call to action and wrote thousands of letters to Iowa watch a video of the letter writing here. DFA held a Live from the Iowa caucuses conference call the night before as thousands of DFA members at Link-Ups and in homes got a first hand glimpse on the ground in Iowa. And, Democracy for America purchased an ad in the Des Moines register calling on Democrats to Unite for a Progressive President. The campaign was victorious as Congressman Kucinich called on his supporters to caucus for Sen. Obama, and Senators Obama and Edwards finished in first and second place respectively . Check out the on the ground reports at Blog for America. (Day 1- Davenport, Day 2 – Des Moines)
I’m not a registered Democract nor a Hillary supporter. However, I know a lot of you out there are, that you worked hard for her, and yes, 18 million of you voted for her in the primary. The truth is: she never had a chance because the Chairman of your party went for Obama as early as 2004. And his grassroots organization saw to it that he was elected to the Chairmanship in 2005, which meant that in 2008 the race would go to Obama – and it did. Chairman Dean saw to it that voters and delegates were disenfranchised, then handed Michigan delegates to Obama even though his name was not on the primary ballot. Dean could have saved you a lot of time, effort, and personal angst if he had told you, when he assumed the Chairmanship, that he was in the tank for Obama. Instead, he let the process go forward but tinkered with it so the candidate of your choice would be out of the running. You were, and likely still are, angry – and well you should be. I have no idea what duties are included in the Chairman’s position description; however, I seriously doubt that delegitimizing a bona fide candidate is one of them.
Obama is not a Democrat. He’s a socialist progressive running on the Democratic ticket. DFA’s stated goal is to reform the Democratic Party into an even more progressive entity. As Chairman, Howard Dean occupies the position of power to make that happen whether you as a Democrat want it to or not. If I were registered with your party and a Hillary supporter, I would be more than angry. I would be incensed and demanding, yes, demanding that Dean be ousted for improper interference in your nominating process. The Far Left has absolutely overtaken your party - that’s why Hillary Clinton never had any real chance, why she’s not in the photo, not in the narrative, and not on the ballot. It’s also why I won’t cast my vote for a Democrat.
