Best not to think on that too long unless, of course, you happen to relish self-induced nausea, heartburn and indigestion. 2009 marks my 44th year as a voter and never in those four-plus decades has the working of this government been in such a state of disarray. Not surprising, given the utter incompetence and Radical Left ideology of Junior and the Speakerette. Nevertheless, our representative Republic labors on with dogged determination to function as it was conceived despite the Majority’s continuing assault. Civil Liberties once rightfully held only by bona fide citizens of these United States are being tossed like so many Halloween treats into the bottomless bags of illegal aliens and foreign national enemy combatants. Pseudo-laws are being passed willy-nilly by the Majority without regard for constitutionality or citizen burden. Running through it all is the Majority’s absolute intent to recreate America as a socialist Nanny state, complete with a debased population ever more dependent upon an expanded Central government and its handouts. They glowingly define this effort as a “redistribution of wealth” and proudly proclaim their intent to guarantee an across-the-board sameness for one and all. In short? A population of droids – same house, same car, same wage, same social status, and on it goes. No room for individual uniqueness, thought, talent, capability, effort or accomplishment in this Utopian ‘paradise’ envisioned by the Majority. Junior is, of course, merely a token presence in the White House which, for all intents and purposes, could have remained totally uninhabited since January 20 and been equally as effective as it is today. It is, in fact, the Radical Left Speakerette who is, gavel rap by gavel rap, skirting our Constitution and forcibly injecting ultra-left wing Liberalism into virtually every facet of our society. Because no ‘checks and balances’ exist in today’s Federal government, we are witness to the monster created by that deficit on an almost-daily basis. Incalculable harm has already been done to the citizens of our Republic through the seating of a one-party government. If the quagmire that is the current state of this nation produces nothing save a hard lesson learned about the necessity of viable, two-party representation in our seat of government, ‘all’ will not have been lost. Meanwhile, I am persuaded that if ever there was a time for all of us as citizens to exercise our power over our representative government, it is now. Where no mechanisms are in place in Washington to rein in the runaway foolhardiness of the Majority, let’s not forget that we, the people, are the built-in mechanism of this Republic that can bring the brash, irresponsible, un-Constitutional actions of the current Administration to a screeching halt.
We have a problem in our Legislative Branch where the Speaker of the House endorses illegal alien activity over established law, believing enforcement of the latter to be “un-American.” We have a problem in our Judicial Branch where the Attorney General believes that foreign national subversives – self-declared enemies of the United States – are entitled to the speedy and public trial guaranteed only to citizens (Amendment VI, US Constitution). We have a problem in our Executive Branch where the current occupant of the Oval Office believes it necessary for “religious people” to refrain from discussing religion-specific values during public debate so as to promote a more universal society. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”(Amendment I, US Constitution)

The fate of our country as we know it lies in our hands as citizens. Left unchecked, this Administration will, as evidenced, continue in its effort to transform America into a mirror image of Socialist Europe. I can think of no better time than the present to give a direct injection of the people’s power to Washington, D.C.
